On November 16, 2020, construction work began on the concrete slab for the installation of the prototype of the LIFE-DRY4GAS project, integrated by a hybrid solar dryer, a gasifier, a combustion chamber and an ORC cycle. The slab, located on a flat area of the facility near the WWTP wet sludge discharge, was completed in mid-December 2020.

A solar dryer with a covered area of 320 m2 will be constructed on one part of the slab, together with the zones for reception and storage of wet and dry sewage sludge.

The gasifier, the combustion chamber and the ORC cycle will be installed inside a warehouse with a roof and a partial vertical enclosure to prevent damages caused by rainfall. The construction of the warehouse is currently in progress.
