Research Lines
DIVERCEL-CM is a multidisciplinary research Program that joins efforts of seven Groups to develop autonomous energy generation systems based on Fuel Cells. In order to achieve its objective the Program proposes several actuation lines:
Fuel Cell: PEMFC-SOFC
- Development of new more efficient electrodes under operation conditions and fabrication methods.
- Design and optimisation of prototypes.
- Module optimisation as regards to efficiency, reliability and durability.
Participants: G1-CMT-IS, G2-CMT-PC, G3-ICP-PC and G4-ICP-CFA in colaboration with the University of Castilla La Mancha and the Institute for Renewable Energy of Albacete.
Hydrogen production systems from renewable energy sources
- Development of a system for hydrogen generation using as energy sources the eolic energy or the solar energy: the hydrogen
will be used as fuel in the developed energy generation systems. - Development of a hydrogen generation system using biogas as energy source, to be used as fuel in the developed energy
generation systems. Their integration with a fuel cell to be used as an auxiliary power unit in a housing will be studied.
Participants: G1-CMT-IS, G3-ICP-PC and G6-UPM-EM in collaboration with the companies ICI Caldaie
and Hynergreen.
Energy generation systems for stationary applications
- Integration of fuel cells in uninterrupted power systems: Development of a prototype and optimisation (reliability, durability).
- Design and development of low power applications like portable devices.
- Fuel cell integration in medium power applications like a housing: design, evaluation, optimisation of energy resources.
Participants: G1-CMT-IS, G2-CMT-PC, G3-ICP-PC, G5-CMT-EE and G6-UPM-EM in collaboration with the companies ICI Caldaie, Hynergreen, OLEA MADRID and the Municipal Housing Company of Madrid (EMVS).
Energy generation systems for mobile applications
- Fuel cell integration in low power applications like electrical vehicles.
- Design and development of control strategies.
- Evaluation under real operation conditions.
Participants: G1-CMT-IS, G2-CMT-PC and G6-UPM-EM in collaboration with The University of Zaragoza and the companies ICI Caldaie and OLEA MADRID.
